ARE YOU READY FOR THE LAUNCH OF THE LIGHT RAIL?!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SEPTEMBER 14, 2019:

  • Starting at 10 a.m. opening ceremonies at Tunney’s Pasture & inaugural first ride
  • Trains will officially start running from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.
  • The adult fare for one ride on the LRT is $3.50 if you’re buying a ticket, or $3.45 if you’re using the e-purse function on a Presto card
  • Seniors passing through fare gates must use a Presto card set with the senior discount to take advantage of free Wednesdays and Sundays
  • Customers can transfer between buses and trains on the single fare for up to two hours in the evenings and on weekends
  • There are free public washrooms at Tunney’s Pasture, Bayview, Hurdman and Blair stations
  • People can bring bikes on the train
  • Pets are allowed if they’re in a carrier and don’t take a seat or block aisles. Service pets are exempt.
  • There is NO free car parking at transit stations
  • There won’t be Wi-Fi on trains themselves, but there is free Wi-Fi on the platforms of the three tunnel stations
  • All 13 stations have elevators and nine of the stations have escalators
